Dr. S. Radhakrishnan laid the foundation stone of the school building in 1956, the then Vice-President of India.

The school building comprises four computer centers, laboratories, libraries, swimming pools and squash courts.

The school provides hostel facilities fro both boys and girls.

DPS Mathura Road has also introduced a public address system.

The Infant Wing of DPS

Some of the activities in which the children indulge in the infant wing of the school are:

Art and Craftwork
Yoga
Group games in the Activity Room
Special week celebrations like Creative Week, Environment Week, and Festival Week etc.
Field and educational trips are also organized.

The Junior Wing of DPS

The junior wing of Delhi Public School, aims at developing the qualities of integrity, honesty, trust, tolerance and compassion in each and every student. Students participate in a activity based learning experience. More emphasis is put on the learning methods than on assessments.

The Senior Wing of DPS

The senior wing of the school follows the CBSE syllabus structure. Humanities and Science stream with a varied range of subjects is offered in the curriculum. Adventure sports and Educational tours form an important aspect of co-curricular Activities at this level.

DPS Mathura Road has its own style of acknowledging the efforts of the students both in academics and in co-curricular activities.

Students are encouraged to participate in outdoor and indoor games like basketball, cricket, football, table tennis, swimming, badminton, chess, golf etc.

The school conducts a talent fiesta every year to recognize and encourage the talent within the students.
